What's the site running on?
This site lives on a server running Debian with the Apache web server, like many other sites. It also has PHP, Perl, MySQL and other goodies like that. The server itself is a shared server which sits in a datacentre somewhere and is provided by Pepperfish.
The majority of the site comes via Movable Type, which is a content management system designed around weblogging. There are other systems out there (my housemate uses something different), i find Movable Type to fit all my needs.
Another bit of software i run on this site is Mint. Mint is a great bit of software for showing you who's been visiting your site and where they've come from, there's a demo on the site, go check it out.
Who designed it?
I wish i could say me, but that'd be lying :) No, the site design is from Neil Turner. I've made a few tweaks here and there, but the templates are largely as they are.
